Delicious food but they DO NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS. I called about 10 days out from needing a place for Sunday brunch for 10 people and was told they did. I was told to call the Friday before. So I called Friday and was told they don’t take reservations. I called Sunday morning and they weren’t busy and had space for us.
At that point, I couldn’t change plans. So I’m glad it worked out. It wasn’t busy at 9am Sunday but oh man it was packed around 11.
Great spot but not suited for large groups unless you go at an off time or have someone go early to save a long table.
Fairly kid friendly though — they have some bins of toy animals that my toddler would have loved. We might go back when the weather is nicer because there’s a great patio.
Amazingly great food, vegan, and carnivore eats. Clean bathroom and just a remarkable staff that will take good care of their customers. The atmosphere is what greatness you can feel and bring to this gem of an eatery. I so enjoyed the steak sandwich with the bountiful of fries. Salads, sandwiches, and even more goodies. This place just astonished me and my grandchildren... yes, I brought picky eaters and a vegan on at that, such a great place to enjoy great food. Browse the menu order and get your utensils and necessities, and find a cozy table to your liking until you receive your order. It is so delicious. Enjoy.

Counter Culture is a local breakfast and lunch place that has been in Santa Fe for a long time, open 7 days a week, 8 to 3. We came for breakfast and ordered at the counter. There was no waiting in line and our food was served quickly. We sat at a picnic table on the back patio. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor patios and a little one was next to us. The patio was quiet with traffic noise in the distance but nothing that interfered with conversation. (76 dB) I ordered the Gravlox, house-cured salmon on a fresh baguette served with capers, cucumber serrano (tart and peppery, a real compliment to the arugula) and lemon dill crema on a base of mixed greens. I love salmon and this did not disappoint. All was fresh and attractive on the plate. My husband ordered the Cowboy Bowl. This was a bowlful of black beans, homefries, red and green chile topped with melted cheese, two over easy eggs (or any way you like them), two long and nicely fried strips of bacon and a flour tortilla. He enjoyed the combination of ingredients in the ample bowl and the “nice spiciness” of the dish. Though we were here for breakfast, the wide range of choices (way too many to mention here) for breakfast (served all day) and lunch is notable. Everything from a banh mi entree to a middle eastern salad with spanakopita. And, of course, they have burgers. Our breakfasts were both around $14 and well worth the price. We have eaten here many times before and will be back here again
This is one of the local favorite famous for the cinnamon bun. Personally I don’t like cinnamon bun so I went for their regular breakfast menu. I ordered cowboy boy. The portion is massive, it needs two person to finish. It’s also very heavy with a lot of cheese, sauce and carb. Not sure if it’s healthy option but it taste decent.
You go to counter to order then take a number to find wherever to sit. Clean up after you finish. Self serve is pretty efficient.
Really good atmosphere. Just a little expensive but comparable to other spots in Santa Fe. Hot chocolate was really good. -Y
Creative dishes and tasty food- M
Lived in Santa Fe for over 20 years and never knew about this place. Heard about it through a Facebook post, went over and definitely will go back. Food was great and plentiful.
Was introduced to this fabulous place for breakfast. A very popular place! I ordered the Gravlox- and it was awesome! Very tasty salmon with capers, pickles, served on a bed of argula!
I liked the atmosphere, and there is so much more on the menu I want to try! I will be going back!
So far so good The cinnamon roll is phenomenal and chocolate cake is phenomenal and this is the steak sandwich looking good
